Scary Baboon mods and fan games: identify what a download changes
A mod menu, a fan game and a moderator are different things. Identify the publisher and what a package changes before treating it as a Scary Baboon update.
Decide what “mod” means here
| What the word refers to | What to verify | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| A mod menu or modified game package | Which app it changes, who distributes it, and whether the developer authorizes that change. | A familiar logo or filename does not make it an official update. |
| A separate fan game | The project’s own creator, listing ID and description. | Similar names or characters do not establish the original developer’s involvement. |
| A community moderator | The role shown through the developer-linked community’s own process. | A downloadable menu, badge image or unsolicited message does not establish a staff role. |
Compare a claimed update with the original release
- Open the Scary Baboon developer website and follow its store button. The main Meta Quest listing checked here is app 6458628580871969, developed by ENVER.
- Compare the proposed download’s creator, listing and stated purpose. Scary Baboon: SandBox, app 1274761269050496, has a different publisher record; see the identity comparison.
- Ask what changes: the original game’s installed files, gameplay behavior, or a separate project. If the distributor cannot establish the origin or authorization, leave it unresolved and use the verified platform route.
Keep this comparison locally:
| Field | Record from the actual source |
|---|---|
| Project / package label | The name shown on the listing, including any fan-game or modification label |
| Creator and listing URL | The creator shown by the store or upload page, rather than a copied logo |
| Stable app ID | Whether it matches the developer-linked main game or identifies another product |
| Claimed change | Separate project, file modification, gameplay modification, or unclear |
| Authorization evidence | A developer statement covering that exact change; leave unknown if absent |
| Next action | Use the original listing, ask the developer through its own links, or keep the identity unresolved |
An upload page can establish who uploaded that copy. It does not establish original authorship, permission or file safety. This guide does not scan packages; the APK evidence checklist explains what a source comparison can establish.
Read the developer’s published restrictions
ENVER’s terms, sections 4–7, address unauthorized copying or modification, unfair exploitation and interference with security or services. The terms include qualifications for rights allowed by applicable law. Read the current text for the exact scope; this guide does not determine permission for a particular modification or an account’s enforcement outcome.
For clarification, reach the developer from its own website. A promise that a menu is undetectable or that a download grants moderator status does not establish authorization.
